  1. This is fascinating stuff. If it's not too stupid a question are these photos of actual books you've altered? (I've heard of and maybe read a little about "Book Arts" but it was a while ago)

  2. Not at all a stupid question - no such thing here! They are photos of my collages that I am doing, within a single book. I started it on July 25th, if you want to go back to that date to see a full explanation. This process is called "Altered book art", where the artist works within an already bound and printed book, covering, or incorporating what is found in the original book into the new art form. Another type of book arts includes hand binding - which involve sewn, folded, and adhesive techniques to create a new book. My personal definition of book arts is creating an artful visual journey through images and content that unfolds over a series of pages.
Hope that helps! and thanks for visiting and asking.

  4. thank you - after 2 back surgeries and the prospects of a third, I've become a bit of an expert! It's often hard for me NOT to think about, or create back/spine themed imagery...

  5. I had never heard about book art before. (Shame on me!) I really like the concept. It's very inspirational.
