  7. ha lynne!! xox

Hi Sharmon, thank you. It's simply a layering of acrylics. I think I used 5 different blues though, and aquinacridone violet, and and some scarlet, to add that contrast for creating depth - just rubbing in, rubbing off, so the color gets worked in and takes on dimension and depth.

Glad you like it so much Maria - it was one of those ones that flowed.

Thank you Patti - I guess I needed to "go bold" with color and all, after the quiet serenity of yesterday! I'm a it skitzy that way :)

Hi Renee, I like that. Yes, a new day, each day...

  8. The hands and lotus flower combo truly works well. I have a deep connection to the lotus so this painting calls deeply to me. Colors jump, the scratching into paint reminds of ancient times. Amazing so many blues you used, I am, like your blog title, truly beyond words!

  10. Oh, thank you Bev...

Hey Donna, indeedy, get a little contrasting hues, and zingo! Lynne and I had been conversing color earlier in the day, and her comment was in reference to that chat :)

I was a little surprised at the intensity of color that kept not being enough, as I worked. I guess I needed to saturate myself, after yesterday's subdued calm, which went on for many many hours... I look at the two vastly different sets of pages and find myself curious about each voice!

  11. Karin,
This piece calls to me so strongly. The hands speak to me b/c I am a massage therapist and hands are my tools, my art for healing. And the lotus represents the transformational quality of touch.

    Thank you for inspiring me!
