beautiful mandalas - there's something about them that reminds me of frida kahlo's paintings. thanks for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteAs usual LOVE! Especially loving the vine and movement. Beautifuller!
ReplyDeleteLove the use of the background text print and then the structure of the swirling lines--one complimenting the other.
ReplyDeleteThe center is stellar.....beautiful!
XXOO~~♥

You are so prolific! I just love your output. So fiery, so colorful so complex! Karin our new BBB Club leaf mobile is flying. I forgot to tell you that Renee was flying with us from the very beginning. I just did not mention it. Look for the dove.Hope you are doing well thi weekend. Chores for me today. I wanted to paint but no, I am so sleepy! Tsup!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see you're making art again; I hope this means your hands are feeling much better. Layers of meaning here, I think, and strong emotion. This speaks to my spirit. I love the symbolism of the light/starburst coming from behind the brambles- kind of says it all. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...with the surrounding vines (?) carrying all kinds of mythic resonances...from the crown of thorns to the thick woods surrounding Sleeping Beauty's castle...
ReplyDeletekarin, i see entanglement in this, and not easy. the center is so pure and vibrant, and the paths wind every which way. i understand the feeling, at least as it reflects my own when i am forging through something.
ReplyDeletei think i'll be back to you this weekend. how profound, really.
p.s. your studio wrote me a note and asked me to tell you to enjoy it totally. :)
Glad you are feeling a little better, enough to paint this beauty. So much detail, lots of layers. Have a great Sunday. Take care.
ReplyDeleteit is interesting how we all choose to interpret things. I see you battling your way thru a maze to reach the beauty beyond! keep going! we are behind you!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, Karin.

ReplyDeleteHi Karin,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I've been out of touch, and thank you for your lovely comments. This work is stunning, just like all of your work but there's something...new and different about this one. It's gorgeous. Hope you're doing better! xo
Love the focal point on this mandala. The vines surrounding it, being a darker shade really allows for the center to draw you inward.
ReplyDeletethanks notmass - I hadn't thought of her, but now that you mention it, I can see what you mean!
ReplyDeletemany thanks Linda Sue!! xo
Hi Anne, thank you, yeah - I love those foreign texts! xox
Tsup Ces, Prolific is how I'd describe YOU, but I'll take it :) thank you!! I love the new logo - I've loaded her up, now I'll have to add a pic of my bold headed baby self! cheers!!
Thanks Sharmon, it felt good - I'm a bit sore today, but it was worth it - the image was asking to come out! xo
Hi Jay, thank you - you've hit on exactly what I was feeling, so I'm very glad it translated as you've described.
Yes kj, this is about that struggle through the brambles of life, which always lead to light, color, life rewards!! Oh that sneaky studio of mine - I'll have to do an update today...
thank you Gloria! I hope your Sunday is great, too, filled with sunshine and wonder!
I think your interpretation is on, too, lyle. like telling a story, I was seeing life through symbolism here, and was painting with a voice both personal and universal. Thanks for being in my cheering section!! xo
many thanks Bob,
and thank you Megan!
Hi Penny, I'm smiling, thank you! Yes, and I hope you are, too!! xoxox
Hi Svasti, your welcome, and no problem - I know you've been working through a tough time yourself. xox
Thank you Cheryl, yes that was what I was hoping to achieve!
I like the way the colours sing in the centre. Beautiful mandala Karin!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karin. It is my pleasure. You know, sometimes I wonder why I blog. It seems such a time consuming task and even takes me away from my painting activities. Then I think of people like Renee and you and it is all worth it.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, Bella, she has elevated my blogging experience. Her mirth is so contagious and she is so funny. We all love her!
The effect of this gorgeous flower inside the tangled web of graphite with it's touch of brown is stunning. And the writing on the side speaks of mysteries and secrets of humankind. Thank you for sharing this. roxanne
ReplyDeleteKarin,
ReplyDeleteYour mandala today is so magnetic- just totally draws me in. Love our background

ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Karin for remembering us and how much we love to see the world through your eyes/hands/imagination....lovely. I hope you had a good day today...good moments...small blessings...gentle breezes of joy.
ReplyDeleteWowwwwwwwwww, Karin! I look at this and I immediately see life. Precious, warm, LIFE. Kinda of secret, kind of hidden, but it's there, and it has beautiful energy. You are amazing, my BBB friend! Love all the layers here.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a beautiful weekend.

Karin, your strength is radiantly beaming and breaking out from behind the tangles
ReplyDeleteI see you my friend coming out of the tangles of life..Wonderful details as always and beauty.

What exquisite work! Art therapy and colorful energies are very effective catalysts for deeper internal healing. One is always working on physical and non-physical parts of being.
ReplyDeleteUnsure if you received some recent photos of my son Tashi-Bonzai. He is already an intrepid traveller having his own passport at 5wks and come to meet his granny in Canada from Australia. She is now in palliative care with her advanced stage cancer. Her spirit is good and she is grateful for the family being together. Love and blessings to you at every stage of your own healing journey. Re-alignment with who we are is always within reach.
I absolutely love this piece, Karin. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately....life is getting in the way of my blogging. I think of you often. I hope you are doing well. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe dance of creation is flowing in this mandala ...I feel so happy to be able to connect with your magic hands and sacred healing affirmations. Remember to honor your journey and I am so blessed to have you in my life. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mandalas Karin. I particularly love the top one. I hope you are well dear one. H xxx
ReplyDeleteKarin,
ReplyDeleteThis is truly an exquisite mandala--one that seems to encompass the light and the shadow of life. Particularly like the arabic script that emerges through the twining vines...hinting at complexity of our world and inner life at the same time.
One word Karin : Beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteI choose Innate enoughness. I am with ya on the worthlessness BS that can consume our Light faster than pac man. I just posted a blurp about remembering. I would love to hear your comment. I'm praying for you.
ReplyDeleteinteresting that its on a bed of words, and yet they don't enter the inner source where the glow emits. lovely, and i can see Frida a bit now too.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the black, grey and dark red and then as a bright light the beutiful golden, pink, light blue flower. Very beautiful Karin!
